Sanmay Ved bought Google.com domain just for $12 on Tuesday. He was wandering around Google's domain page and he saw that Google.com is available to buy.
Ved had added the domain to his cart and purchased the domain. As he completed the purchase, he received an email from Google which says that the order is has been cancelled.
However, the mistake was quickly spotted by Google and got back the domain. This happened because Google's security team had a flaw in their system.
Unlike on 2003 in which Microsoft forgot to renew the Hotmail UK domain which was registered with Nominent UK domain seller website. And the Hotmail UK was open to market to purchase by anyone. Someone else purchased it and Microsoft was not able to pick it back mechanically.
