You can use spotlight search to find your apps, songs, documents, image and some other files. Spotlight shows additional information from Wikipedia or most visited website in your Mac.
You can open spotlight search just by clicking magnifying glass (Search) on the top right corner before the notification centre or press Command+Spacebar from any software.
Spotlight shows the rest of the text when you just type some parts of it. Like if your typing "saf" it will show "Safari" but the rest of the part will be shown in less contrast.
In spotlight search, you can convert the dollar to rupee by just typing "100 Dollar" or the value you want. In my Mac, it converts to rupee because I'm from India and I give India as my locating when I was setting up Mac OS X Yosemite.
