In iPhone, you have the feature to automatically delete every old message. If you want to save any of your message we suggest you to clipping and app like Evernote.
1. Open Settings > Messages.
2. Go down (scroll) to selection labelled Message History
3. Click on Keep Messages.
4. Choose 30 Days or 1 Year. If you want it deletes message which is older than 1 month, then click 30 Days 30 Days or if you want it to stay one year click 1 Year.
